At Al-Falah Academy, we understand the importance of assisting our human folks. There are several avenues and opportunities to help those that are in need and at Al-Falah, we have carved out our own portion of work based on capacity and drive. Considering we are in the education sector, we endeavor to look at loopholes and gaps specifically in the Primary educational sector to help clog it. We work with Islamic oriented school with emphasis in the Northern part of the country. We understand clearly that we will not be able to solve the problems alone so we reach out, partner and do collaborative work with credible stakeholders in the ecosystem.
What We Do
A. CAPACITY UPGRADE: We identify schools that need technical support in terms of curriculum generation, lesson plan enhancement to work with. We have a very capable team with 4 decades of combined work experience that are very happy to work with schools that need a boost. The main challenges Islamic oriented schools face throughout Nigeria is the issue of low Arabic literacy standards. The issue is related to both academic materials resource and human resource incapacity. Al-Falah Foundation aims to work with schools in bridging the gaps by:
i. Supporting schools with standard international standard materials for teaching. ii. Intense 10 days’ workshop for teachers on effective utilization of class resources and teaching method. iii. Periodic checks to gauge and ensure impact.
B. SCHOOL RENOVATION: Our Foundation team work to identify school that are doing well but lack the proper infrastructure to sustain their good efforts long-term. We discuss potentials in-house, identify school, mobilize resources and work quickly to provide project schools with the relevant upgrade. Schools vary in their requirements for assistance in terms of infrastructure: i. Some schools require better structure. This means we will deploy builders and a building expert to assess and report back the resource requirements for renovation which will then be executed. ii. Some schools require better learning materials like benches, Qur’an, books, and classroom utilities. iii. Some school need better sanitary amenities like toilets, drainages and safe water points.
Our aim with this option is to ensure the children are helped along their journey of learning and maturity. At Al-Falah Foundation, we believe that all children must be helped if identified on their quest for Islamic knowledge because it makes them better people and of course give them a good chance for salvation in the next and more important life.
